My favourite subject in Oxford is painting the punts on the Cherwell. The main punthouse is The Cherwell Boathouse where you can rent punts by the hour. I love the structure of the boats and the amazing colours of the varnished wood against the green of the river. I painted this oil painting at the early stages of my use of oil paints and have modified the painting over time as I have learnt more about oils. This painting has sat in my studio for a long time bcause I keep on thinking that it needs some figures.
