This canvas print is a reproduction of an original ink sketch of the Oppies racing at Bosham. Painted on location en plein air with a brush pen in black ink in my sketchbook. This gestural black and white image captures the energy and movement of sailing boats in the harbour.

Inspiration

I was in Bosham next to the sailing club's boathouse as a small fleet of Oppies caught my eye as they set off for a race in Chichester harbour. So I quickly sketched one of the sailing boats setting off from the quay side.
