This canvas print is a reproduction of an etching of Norfolk crab boat edition 3 featuring a crab boat sitting in the mud at Blakeney in North Norfolk in England. This is one in a series of etching editions I created of the coastal marches around Blakeney and Cley. This version was printed from the copper plate etching by hand in orange and sepia with black on the press at Oxford Printmakers.
Inspiration
I was in Blakeney on holiday and was skethcing along the coastal marshes and spotted this boat sitting in the mud at low tide. I did an ink sketch of it and then used the sketch to create this copper plate etching edition in orange and sepia with some hand tinted corrections in black.
