This canvas print is a reproduction of an etching of Stiffkey mooring edition 3. Based on an original sketch of a boat moored in a channel in the saltwater marshes in North Norfolk. The original image was hand printed in green and turquoise from a copper plate etching on the intaglio press in Oxford.
I was walking between Blakeney and Cley on the coastal marshes when I saw this boat moored in a narrow channel. It was perfectly composed with the light reflected down the centre of the channel. A compositional gift.
