I painted this view across the lake in June 2025 in high summer. What I didnt realise was that I had Covid at the time and was very hot. It took me a long time to resolve this painting and it has sat on my drying racks for over a year. It is now finished. See some progess photos of early starges of the painting process. I was first attracted by the tree on the left as its my favourite tree in the gardens.

But then I realised that the painting is all about the grasses and the tree looked out of scale with the forground. So I removed the tree and focused on the grasses.
You view the painting now as though you are down on the ground looking through the grass heads above your eye level.
