I painted the fishing boats on the beach at Hastings. There are lots of old fishing shacks that still sell fish and act as storage sheds for the fishermen. I picked a spot amongst the boats to paint this view en plein air. It was a low cast day but a shaft of light appeared behind the clouds and shone across the horizon.
